Congratulations to our TAYA Taekwondo Athletes who competed at their First Poomsae Competition in the Yellow Belt division at the recent Global Martial Arts Support Your Olympians Tournament held at Minto NSW on 17 June 2012. This is a fund raising event for the Australian Taekwondo Olympic Team for the upcoming London Games. A strong result and promising future given that our athletes have only been promoted from White Belts to Yellow Belts three weeks ago prior to this tournament and have competed in Taegeuk Poomsae Il Jang and Ee Jang (Patterns 1 and 2)! This is a great achievement in itself!
Congratulations to Abby for winning Gold at the recent Melbourne Taekwondo Centre Olympic Fund Raising Inter Club Championships held on 20 May 2012 at Boxhill, VIC! Abby executed very good techniques in her two matches with the Victorian fighters scoring 4-1 in the preliminary match and 8-5 in the final match. We are very proud of you and share your success!
Abby had a good tough match at the first Sports Taekwondo New South Wales Championships held on 29 April 2012 at the Anne Clark Netball Centre, Lidcombe tying in at 8 points at the end of the third round with her Queensland opponent and losing the golden point in the sudden death fourth round.
