Team TAYA competed at the recent year-ending Sports Taekwondo NSW State Championships last 28 October 2012 at Whitlam Leisure Centre, Liverpool with excellent results achieved. Congratulations to the following players:

• Kyan Gonzales - Gold -Sparring, Yellow Belt, 8-9 years old, 35-40 Kgs Division
• Hannah Contemplacion - Gold - Poomsae, Yellow Belt, 12-13 years old Division and Silver - Sparring, 12-13 years old, 35-40 kgs Division
• John Aguilar - Gold, Poomsae, Yellow Belt, 12-13 years old Division and Bronze - Sparring 12-13 years old 35-40 kgs Division
• Alexandra Mercado - Gold, Poomsae, Yellow Belt, 6-7 years old Division
• Maria Luisa Mercado - Gold, Poomsae, Yellow Belt, 40-49 years old Division
• Isaiah (Aya) Mercado - Silver, Sparring, Yellow Belt in both the 68-74 kgs and 74-80 kgs Open Divisions
• Aaryan Kumar - Bronze, Yellow Belt, 8-9 years old, 31-35 kgs Division

It was the first time Hannah, Aaryan, Aya, Ali and John competed in sparring with Lisa, John and Ali also competing for the first time in poomsae. We are also very proud of Ali for winning the highest score among all Yellow Belts (male-female and all age groups)! Well done!
