
Team Taya competed at the recent NSW State Championships at Sydney Olympic Park Netball Central last 23 April 2017 bringing home a total of 23 medals from 11 athletes (Sparring - 7 Golds, 6 Silvers, 5 Bronzes and Poomsae - 2 Golds, 1 Silver, 2 Bronzes). Well done Team Taya! We also recognise the superb efforts of Sofia Querubin who won Gold in all of her sparring divisions (1 Red Belt and 2 Black Belt divisions) and awarded Triple State Champion!!! Team Taya had a successful day at the 2017 Australian Sports and Martial Arts Association (ASMA) Open at Whitlam Leisure Centre, Liverpool bringing home 21 medals (14 Golds, 3 Silvers, 4 Bronzes) and awarded the Second Best Club of the Tournament, an improvement from last year's 3rd Place. Our member Sofia Querubin was also awarded the Best Female Junior Athlete of the Tournament. We are very happy and proud of the results and the strong performance from the team which is a good start for 2017. Well done Team Taya! The trip to Bendigo proved to be a happy and successful journey with Team Taya winning 5 Golds out of 7 athletes. Our Coloured Belts competed at their first Nationals and were crowned Australian National Champions for 2016 in their respective divisions after some tough matches against competitors from across the country.

Team Taya competed at the recent NSW State Championships held last 7 August 2016 at the Sydney Olympic Park State Sports Centre and brought home 7 Golds, 12 Silvers and 3 Bronzes from 11 athletes. Good performances shown and further experience gained by the team which will assist with their preparation for the Australian National Championships in Bendigo, Victoria on 26-28 August 2017. Well done Team Taya! We are so proud of your hard work, perseverance and strong focus.
