Team Taya had a very successful trip to Bendigo, Victoria bringing home a total tally of 17 medals with 9 Golds, 5 Silvers and 3 Bronzes at the Australian National Championships from our 17 young athletes last 22-24 September 2018. The Nationals is the most prestigious event in Australian Taekwondo with the best athletes from all the states vying for the top spots in their divisions. This achievement was the culmination of several months of intensive training in taekwondo techniques, tactics, court management and fitness regimen improving stamina, endurance, agility and mental strength. The team competed in various local and interstate tournaments throughout the year including our junior and cadet athletes competing at the Dutch Open and Belgium Open and the two National Team Selection Events which has given them the significant experience and court time they needed to improve their game and performance.

A fantastic result for Team Taya with the athletes and their families supporting and cheering for each other throughout the 3-day event. It was such a fun and memorable experience with a poolside team BBQ at the All Seasons Hotel which was the team hotel. Thank you to all the parents and families for all your support and encouragement and to our dedicated coaches for your hard work and passion in bringing the best from everyone.
